Valen-Times 2014

Wow. I've been really bad at writing on here. I don't really have any excuses... Sean was a little sick this week (and wrote this), we're still on our way to buying a house, our apartment is particularly moldy, it's been raining, the Olympics are on... Really just stuff you'd expect.

A week ago tomorrow was our 2 year dating anniversary and we went to Red Lobster. It's a lot easier to celebrate that than to fight the hoards of people on Valentine's day itself. Plus it's a little more special for us. We are still going to do Valentine's gifts. I painted Sean a picture and he got me something from the internet. I think we might go to Five Guys or Rubio's or something just because. Other than that, Valentine's is a pretty normal day.

Our first Valentine's day... Whoo, it's a good story. I guess I was soooooooooo blinded by Sean's adorable-ness that I didn't realize it was a hilarious story and should've written it down here but I didn't.

It started out pretty great. I walked over to his apartment because I didn't have time/wrapping paper enough to wrap his Build-a-Bear which I cutely named Sean the Jedi and dressed as a Jedi. Plus he had to finish a few things with dinner. I got there, rang the bell, and then straight away gave him the bear when he opened the door. He handed me a cute bag with 3 awesome Beatles Mugs and a Batman magnet inside.

He pulled the steaks out of the oven and they were heart-shaped. AW. He also had potatoes in a casserole dish ready for eating. He dished it all up for us as I sat at the counter and admired the roses and candles he'd put out. The steak was super delicious, I remember because my first bite was much too big so I was chewing it forever while trying not to choke because Sean was laughing at me and I was laughing (as much as I could) too.

We finished eating and then went on a drive and ended up at Blickenstaff's Toy Store in Provo. We wandered around and then... Actually... I don't really remember what happened after that. I think we probably.. OH YEAH. We went back to our neighborhood and went to our friend Jayme's house to pick up my copy of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World she'd borrowed. Then we went back to Sean's and watched it.

It was really sweet. Like he always is. The funniest part of all of this, though, was that he spent about $200 on the whole night. "What?" you ask. Yes, he had to buy household items to have Valentine's day at home. He was offered reservations at a nice restaurant but turned them down because he didn't want to spend a ton of money on a girl he'd just started dating. HAH. Joke was on him. He bought plates and stools and food and flowers... What a guy.

Anyway, I still love him just as much as then and I'm so happy he's my forever Valentine.
I gotta go check if our bed is still wet from me stupidly putting the humidifier on it while vacuuming... bad idea.
I'll post a picture of my painting once I give it to him tomorrow. Squee!

I love my Valentine

I want you to know before going into this that it's gonna be pretty gushy.

I love my husband. There is no better way to put that. He is exactly what I need.
I had an embarrassing emotional breakdown last night and, throughout the entire thing, Sean held me and listened to me blather on. He is just amazing.

I did this thing where I wrote 52 things I love about Sean on a deck of playing cards and I just keep thinking up more even though I'm all out of cards and he's already seen them. They look like this:

on the other side, there is a picture of our wedding. aw.

This morning, I woke up and went into the bathroom. Sean had to leave early, so I was home alone. I found a note written on the mirror and a box of fancy make-up! What a wonderful husband I have. And then, before I left for work this morning, I came outside and saw this on my car:

I seriously love this man.
Anyway, he should be home in about half an hour and then we'll see what he has planned. I don't know.
Okay, I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's day!
love, ellen.

Guess who's got two thumbs and the best boyfriend ever?

oh, that just happens to be me.
but seriously, he's the best.
it's kind of weird, this is the first night in 2 weeks that i haven't seen him.. but it's okay. He's having fun with his brother and it's cool. except that he's at a country concert. i won't stop teasing him about it.
but he's incredibly adorable.
he makes me smile all the time and tells me how great i am.
sometimes it makes me want to write really cliche poetry. actually a lot. and it doesn't help that we're talking about poetry in my early brit lit class.
he's adorable.
he doesn't get freaked out when i tell him weird things like how jenny yelled "you had sex?!" at me in my apartment and i almost punched her face in because it wasn't true. she's so assume-y.
basically, he just makes me a million happy and i just like him a million bunches.
on valentime's, it was the best best. he got me 3 (count 'em, 3) Beatles mugs. 3! and a Batman magnet!! a.dor.a.ble. here's a picture of them:
not an amazing picture, i know. i'm not a photographer. i have a camera and that's about it.
do you wanna know what i got him? because it's cussin' adorable.
adorable, right? right. i named him Sean the Jedi. a.dor.a.ble. all the way. he's just the best boyfriend ever ever ever. and right now, i'm making him a mix cd. #1.
okay.
i think that's all for right now.
also, i love love Parenthood and i cannot wait until next week.

Happy Valentimes!

I like that better than Valentine's because it says time. also i'm sure i heard it on a 30 Rock episode once but i'm having difficulty finding it...

Anyway, i thought it funny if i shared some of my favorite valentines i found recently.

to start:
Doctor Who Cat Valentines!!!! it's the best.

Then i found these Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog ones. they're weirder...

Then i found this dalek one and it was funny.

and i love love this one with the Beatles!
or this one. oh, yellow submarine.

and to top it all off...
hahaha cute.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Valentine's day!
And a special shout-out to my valentine, Sean! Thanks a million, you're the best.

One Big Step...

Happy 100th post everyone! and and happy day-before Valentine's Day!

i love double meanings. but this particular title only has one.
(no, i'm not changing my major to astronomy...)
it means i have really spectacular news: I've got a boyfriend. If you haven't seen already on the facebook..
he's really great.

i kinda wish i had a picture of us to put up here.. but i don't. So that's just going to have to be too bad.

I know people love juicy secrets and details, but i'm not sure i want to post those here. so you're just going to have to contact me otherwise.

i just wanted to tell ya'll about my really great valentine and how he is so great and funny and cute and nice and sweet he is.

oh, and i'm sorry i've been a poop about the picture a day deal. turns out i'm lazy and having too much fun (at the same time..?) to take pictures. eh. you understand.

and now i'm going to go to work.

Love,
Ellen
