Day 18: Wisdom, Funny, Brothers

Okay, I know, I've been horrible at my own challenge lately... but starting a new job and having my mother-in-law here have been making things a little hard. But I'm not complaining because I'm so grateful I have a job now and got to see my beautiful mother-in-law for a while!

Back to business.

The best thing my mom told me when I was younger was that

"You marry who you date."

or

"You're an odd duck."

Haha. It's true though! When I was dating Sean, I was told this often and I kept it in mind. When Sean and I would argue or be upset, I would remember that and figure that everything would be okay when we got married because it was never something I would be upset about for very long. We hardly ever argue and people kept telling us we would. Not saying we don't but we just remember the more important things and move on. I love Sean.

She also told me I was an odd duck and I'm cool with that. I'm different and I know it and I'll work it.

Seriously, guys, this girl is cool.

I have a funny story. So Sean and his brothers, his brother's wife, and his mom and I went to Gilgal garden in SLC yesterday and it was so pretty and had delicious grapes and we had so much fun there and, at one point, we met another family whose sons were interested in our game of 'catch the grape in your mouth' and we had a ton of fun telling jokes and grape tossing.

This leads into what was supposed to be my yesterday post about my favorite joke.
I have a few:

What do you call a fake noodle?
- an imPASTA!

How do you throw a space party?
- you PLANET!

What does a fish say when it swims into a wall?
-DAM!

What do you call a jack-o-lantern bandaid?
-a PUMPKIN PATCH!

What do you call an alligator in a vest?
-an INVESTIGATOR!

and then this picture makes me laugh every time:

EVERY TIME!!!!

haha.

Okay, one last thing and I'll be on my way:
I'm sorry I missed telling you about the live-chat with the Scott brothers from Property Brothers via their twitters... Anyway... I'm horrible. BUT! Make sure you watch the finale next Sunday night!

My house is a mess...

and I'm here sitting on my couch watching The Talk. Ahh... life. It will get clean before Sean gets home, but right now, I might just take a little nap.

This week, in preparation for our vacation, Sean and I went through a bunch of our old pictures to bring to the reunion. I love having physical pictures to look through. Facebook and other computerized photo albums are fine and all, but having the actual picture in my hand is a lot more of a memory (anyone else catch the irony?)

The problem, however, is that photo albums are almost obsolete. Either everything is on the computer or in some time-consuming scrapbook. I just want to be able to flip through all those photos without having to glue them to expensive paper with cut outs of whatever and cutesy letters. I just want photos with years and descriptions on the back. Easy peasy.

I just barely finished building our driving playlist with only fun music and... 1.9 days. Whoops. that's about a day too much. It's fine. Now we have a fun playlist. I better get to cleaning.

SEE YOU IN SOME TIME!

I Love Mixes.

It's true. Sean and I have already made/given each other 3 mixes. We're so good at it.
Well, he's really good at it and i just like forcing my music down people's throats a lot of times...
Anyway, we have a lot of fun. Here's some of the best songs from his latest mix to me.
I'd embed the vids, but they weren't on the thing or whatever... so now you get a variety of links. have fun, kids!
Mr. Rock and Roll by Amy Macdonald.
Lions by Ace Enders
Beware by Def Gone Graphic
haha, i got one to work! this is a good one too. but then again.. they're all good.

Anyway.. Yeah. it's great. we have so much fun. yesterday, we (and by we i mean Sean) made bacon cheeseburgers on our (his) new grill. the grill was on the balcony and it was raining so we sat inside and grilled from inside and listened to the Twins game. They won. Woo!

i've been having stupid dreams lately. the latest one was about me going to some conference or something and blah blah can't remember most of it except that it ended with me on a roller coaster that went so high up and then stopped and i fell out and was dangling by my seatbelt that wasn't even secure. it was h o r r i f y i n g. i already hate roller coasters and heights! it was so stupid. ugh.

okay. anyway...
now that it's taken me 3 times to finally post this, ENJOY!

He works at the Far-Mar.

I should really start re-reading my last blog posts to know what i already said before i start a new one and have to re-tell everything...

Anyway, So did i tell you about Carl? he's this guy in my English class that i've never talked to but i fb stalked a little last weekend and i have a crush on him. Today in class, our prof told us how he ate a cheeseburger a while ago and felt guilty and then ate a fancy meal he originally purchased from the far-mar and Carl says "Which farmers' market did you go to?" and prof says "the one in SL" and then carl says "Oh, you should come to the one in Murray. I work there." and i was like (in my head) "no. way." and now i just wanna marry him. so yeah. i mean there's other stuff like he looks nice with some stubble and he dresses well and wears glasses. all i've gotta do is talk to him... hm. well that'll happen. maybe...

i made me some chicken today but, being an idiot, didn't get it out to thaw early enough and then ended up being some minutes late to work because the chicken too forever. but it's alright. i'm eating it now and it's fine. and i'm eating a really delish pb bar from the B&B and i heart it. it reminds me of elementary school when i'd bring 50 cents and buy one to go with my lunch on special occasions (those being that i had been able to gain 50 cents). they were incredible. this brings me right back. except that they're a lot more expensive now (what isnt?) and i'm not in elem. anymore. and also we'd get them from Dick's in C-ville and chow down for fhe. good times.

Ugh, my allergies are starting to pop up. i'm all tired and runny-nosed and itchy/watery eyed and scratchy-throat'd. bad news. lucky, though, i got some allergy meds form my parents for my birthday. (p.s. i just typed that whole sentence with my eyes closed. yeah, boy. (although, i did fix my errors after.. still counts.))

I hate saying i'm debating on going to bed now or watching doctor who. i need to catch up before this weekend but they're all on my flatmate's lappy and i wouldn't feel comfortable snatching it up without her here. or whatever. and it's like 10:30. i've still gotta do some french devoirs. boo.

anyway, i low you.
Love, Elle (eventh doctor, Matt Smith)
